The tourist tradition of that place goes back to early 1920's. It's situated among lakes, forests and hills - with all certainty everyone can admit that it's the most picturesque and the most often visited part of Suwalki Land. The most beautiful part of that landscape, also called as the jewel or pearl of landscape, is the Wigry Lake which has been shaped by so called Scandinavian glacier. It's one of the deepest and the biggest lakes of Poland and together with the Czarna Hańcza River which flows through the Wigry Lake, they create the whole beauty of that place. The inseparable element of that landscape certainly is historic Monastic Complex of the Camaldolese Monks.
